Lee Parker, an SME owner based in Bolton, has become a Small Business Saturday champion alongside nineteen other UK entrepreneurs.
He will now promote the nationwide event, which is held annually on the first Saturday of December, with this year’s celebration being held on 5th December.
The campaign aims to provide national exposure for small businesses and will shine a light on the UK’s 5.2m SMEs.
Mr Parker is the CEO of Parker Sourcing Ltd, a recruitment solutions company that specialises in the engineering and construction market.
“Most people in this country either own a small business, work for a small business or know somebody who does so I’m are delighted to have been asked to champion Small Business Saturday 2015 in the north west and to do what we can to get people thinking small,” said Mr Parker.
The event is now in its third year, and according to its website, 16.5 million adults went out to support small business owners up and down the country in 2014.
“Our champions have a crucial role to play in mobilising that support and in ensuring that Small Business Saturday comes to life for small business owners in their local areas. They are our feet on the ground,” said Michelle Ovens, national campaign director for Small Business Saturday UK.
