How are start-ups disrupting the travel industry?

The travel industry is changing. Once the preserve of the big travel agencies, hotels and airlines, smaller innovators and start-ups are now making their mark, creating opportunities for a wealth of new experiences.

Airbnb offers us a taste of how people live all over the world, giving us authentic experiences of our destinations, while Uber is making the headache of finding taxis in new places a thing of the past.

As the sharing economy creates new platforms and our appetite for adventure matures, what can we expect next in the travel industry?

StrategyEye’s next knowledge and networking event The Future of Travel will provide some insight into what’s in store for the sector, in an inspiring mix of knowledge sharing, networking and discussion.

Established travel businesses Expedia, HostelWorld and Sojern have been confirmed to speak on the evening, along with start-ups Hostmaker, Tripster and Triptease, who will each pitch about how they’re disrupting the industry in different ways.

After the talks, there will be the opportunity to network with senior executives, investors and entrepreneurs involved in travel over drinks and pizza.

For an idea of what to expect, check out StrategyEye’s highlights video from its Hatching a Billion Dollar Start Up event with Spotify, Uber and YPlan.

The event will take place on September 2nd at The Escalator in east London from 6pm. For more information about the event and to book your ticket, click here.
