Although it’s only August, businesses around the UK are already snapping up the perfect location for their festive celebrations. If you’ve been put in charge of your office’s Christmas get-together, make sure you do these five crucial things, courtesy of Sunshine Events.
1. Get the date booked
It can be extremely hard to find a date that suits the entirety of your team, especially if you have over 10 employees. It’s never too early to book your Christmas party, so get a date in the diary well in advance.
If you’re rushed for time, create an email conversation between you and your co-workers to decide on the best date for everyone. The most popular time for holiday parties is the second week of December and a Friday, giving you the weekend to nurse your hangover at home.
2. Is it a posh affair?
You need to decide how formal your Christmas party is going to be. Will you go with a proper sit-down meal that is fairly formal and upmarket, or would the staff prefer a simple buffet-style casual affair that involves cheap drinks and karaoke?
Don’t try to overcomplicate the event and make sure the food is acceptable to everyone. Most likely everyone will just want to have a few drinks and let their hair down.
3. Make it pretty
You can never go wrong with plenty of Christmas decorations. The bigger the better we say- so make sure there’s lots of reindeers, snowmen, fake snow and tinsel.
If you really want to knock everyone out of the park, hire a Narnia-inspired lamp post or an elaborate wooden throne for the boss to sit on.
4. Keep the drink flowing
Whether you want alcoholic or non-alcoholic drinks served, keep the drinks flowing. No party is complete without refreshments, so put on a wide choice of beverages as well as alcohol-free for those driving.
Do you just want to hire a DJ for some background music or are you looking for something a little quirky like a casino table, rodeo bull or snowboard simulator? There is a plethora of Christmas event and party ideas that can entertain the entire office
Ensure all staff, whatever their age, are kept busy and thoroughly entertained to make this work do the best one ever!
