Many firms find themselves at risk from loss of vital business information as a result of data migration, during the process of upgrading their hardware. This can involve updating back office processes, staff moving from desktop computers to laptops, or even implementing a new back-up system.
Kroll Ontrack surveyed IT administrators worldwide to identify the biggest risks of data migration, and found that losses occur most often because back-up systems fail. They also unveiled that much of this risk is avoidable.
