Sajid Javid explores links with Jordan’s businesses

Business Secretary Sajid Javid led a group of delegates on a visit to Jordan with the aim of building stronger links between the country and the UK.

At the weekend, he visited an area that hosts Syrian businesses to examine their investment potential, joined by representatives from companies including JCB, George at Asda, and Mott MacDonald.

The group met Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour and a number of young Jordanian entrepreneurs to learn about the small business future of the country.

Javid said: “It is obvious that Jordan faces significant regional uncertainty but by building greater business connections and strengthening the economic ties between our two countries we can help to bring economic and national security.

“I am excited to be here with some great businesses looking at the growing opportunities in Jordan and meeting the future of Jordan’s small business community.”
