This Friday (Aug 19) the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) will host a Twitter chat for those interested in apprenticeships. The chat will focus on the role of smaller firms and apprenticeships. It will also look at apprenticeship reform and highlight resources that support smaller businesses to hire an apprentice.
The event will be open to everyone who wishes to join by following #fsbchat, but we also have a panel of some great speakers lined up. They include:
Sue Husband, Director of the National Apprenticeship Service, Skills Funding Agency ( Department for Education). Sue is responsible for the two customer facing services of the Skills Funding Agency – the National Apprenticeship Service (NAS) and the National Careers Service.
Jenny Woodward, Managing Director, The Printed Cup Company. Jenny is the Managing Director of The Printed Cup Company and an FSB member. She started the business with her husband, and initially worked part time dealing with the accounts and HR.
Anthony Impey, CEO of Optimity & Chair on FSB Skills Policy Board Anthony is the CEO of Optimity and an FSB member. He has been awarded Workforce Development Champion by London Loves Business and received the Worshipful Company of IT Practitioners’ Award for Outstanding Achievement.
Jack Kennedy, Strategic Communications and Employer Engagement Manager, Apprenticeship Funding Unit. Jack has lead stakeholder and employer engagement in the Apprenticeship Funding Unit at the Department for Education since May 2016. His role is to engage employers, training providers and other important stakeholders in the changes that are being introduced by the funding reforms that are coming in from April 2017 and to ensure they are prepared.
Annie Peate, Policy Advisor – Education and Skills, FSB (Federation of Small Businesses). Annie leads FSB’s education and skills policy activity for the Federation of Small business (FSB). FSB’s main education and skill priorities in this area include apprenticeships and apprenticeship reform, improving awareness of and access to skills training and development for small businesses and small business engagement
